China is a laboratory for new business models and digital trends that can affect every form of industry.

One of the world’s fastest growing platforms, Pinduoduo, reveals a story of what might be the future of business. Founded in 2015, Pinduoduo connected over 824 million users directly to over 8.6 million merchants in the 12 months ending on 31 March 2021.

How?

The platform achieved fast growth through its pioneering social commerce model, tapping into the ethos of mobile internet, it developed a mobile-only interface to create a fun, interactive, and social experience.

Through its recommendation-focused interface, it reintegrated the fun and interactive discovery-oriented experience of shopping on the high street or Sunday market.  Its innovative team purchase shopping format, which makes it easy for users to browse, explore, recommend, and purchase items with loved ones, also make shopping interactive and social, stimulating users to return for more.
